Hi, my name is Erin Ethier.  I am the founder and herbalist at Earthly Remedies. I’ve been working with and using herbs since I was in my late teens. My first two herbs I started using and so called gateway into the natural world was Valerian root for sleep and Crampbark for menstrual cramps.

Fast forward to 2002 when I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, I decided I had to take better care of myself and that meant changing how I ate, what I exposed myself to, and learning even more about the herbal world.  That is what really started this journey for me. I had just had my first son and then 3 years later had my second son.  My youngest ended up having a bunch of allergies from the very start and I found that making my own products for him seemed to help resolve a lot of the issues he was having.  I stopped buying cleaning products, lotions, bubble baths, and soaps and made my own.  I simplified things a lot and started making most of my own botanical skincare products just for our family along with using more and more herbal medicines. In 2009 that eventually grew into what has become Earthly Remedies by Erin L.L.C.!

We were fortunate enough in 2022 to move to a place that allows us to farm and grow more than we could living in town. We have greenhouses and animals and trails in the woods. We use organic growing practices along with no till and regenerative farming practices. We use manure and compost to rebuild our soils. We are no spray here on the property. I am able to grow a lot of the herbs that I use in my products. We grow most of our own vegetables that are used for putting food up for the winter. We have a small orchard of fruit trees, including apples, peaches, and pears. I sell fresh medicinal herbs throughout the summer as they are available.

I studied and took Rosemary Gladstar's Science and Art of Herbalism. I took the Herbal Academy Advanced Herbal Course for clinical herbalist… see the student write up that was done on me! https://theherbalacademy.com/erin-ethier/

I have been taking classes with Revolutionary Herbalism with Sajah Popham to learn how others teach. I studied under Marguerite Uhlmann-Bower and I continue to work with her as she has become a dear friend and mentor of mine.

I have taken a variety of other online essential oil and herbal classes: classes with Dr. Jessie Hawkins currently from Nutraceuticals Research Institute but at the time ran Vintage Remedies Learning Center; herbal courses from Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine; herbal classes with Dr. Elderberry; essential oil classes from the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; essential oil classes from the School for Aromatic Studies; and also attended many online essential oil summits and continuing education webinars on herbalism and have also participated in seminars on nutrition. I have listened to many others speak on herbalism and healing and through my mother and a dear childhood friend, I have learned the majority of what I know. I have been around plants and herbs my whole life. What I love about the herbal world is that it is so magical and has so much to offer and teach us. We never never stop learning from it.

What we put on our skin matters; it gets absorbed through our pores and makes its way into our bloodstream affecting our vital organs.

Earthly Remedies makes an all-natural line of organic and locally made plant medicine, herbal wellness, and botanical skincare products. I also see a small number of clients and do herbal consulting. My products include, but aren't limited to, herbal tinctures/extracts, herbal syrups, herbal teas, herbal salves, tooth powder, eczema creams, dry shampoo, and much more. They are made with products such as local beeswax,  organic shea butter, organic cocoa butter, raw honey, a variety of organic essential oils, and organic herbs that I grow and forage myself. Everything is made fresh in small batches.

I am committed to providing products that are 100% natural, 100% chemical free, and mostly all organic. (which means no petroleum, no preservatives, no parabens, no GMOs, no synthetic fragrances, no artificial colors, and no stabilizers).  I do not test on animals and none of the raw materials that I source are tested on animals. The only animal-based product that are used is beeswax and honey - I do not use any other animal-based products in my products line.

Business Practices and Ingredients: I try to source as many ingredients as I can from local suppliers whenever possible including organic herbs that I am not growing, organic alcohol, wool, and organic buckwheat. Essential oils and carrier oils are purchased from highly reputable organic suppliers such as Florahana, Mountain Rose Herbs, and JEdwards international. I purchase most of my labels, design work, and packaging from small local companies like JEG Design.  I purchase my honey and beeswax from Mickle Hollow farm which is about 10 miles down the road. Whenever possible I limit the use of packaging materials to help protect the environment, we also reuse all the packaging material that we get in with shipments.
