Kids Summer Herbal Program Learn About Plant Medicine

Ages 8-14.

6-7 year olds can come but parents must stay to help them. All parents are welcome to stay and observe/help if they want. Class is designed for kids with a keen interest in herbs so please only register if they are truly interested as space is limited.

Classes will be on July 10th, 17th, and 24th from 9-12. This is a rain or shine class. If a class must be canceled because of severe weather lasting the whole morning it will be rescheduled for July 31st.

Total cost $180 for all 3 classes, or $65 per class. If you have more than 1 child attending please let me know and we can work out a discount. There are no refunds. .

Activities include weed walks, gathering/harvesting herbs, making things like teas, salves, herbal salts, oxymel with vinegar and honey, potting herbs and more. We will have herbal snacks and herbal teas trying different herbs each week. We will play games and the kids will absolutely have time to run around, play, and maybe catch a frog or two. I do not know what days we are doing what. It will be weather dependent.

Kids will get to take home items that they make throughout the course including:
Herbal Salve
Herbal Oxymel
Herbal salt
Potted Herb Plant
Recipes

Please dress your child appropriately as we will be outside the whole time and they will potentially get messy. I recommend sending a change of shoes and socks. You may want to bring a change of clothes before heading home. We do have an outdoor shower if anyone needs to rinse off arms and legs. Please send your child with a water bottle.

We live on a farm so there are ducks and chickens. I have 2 black labs and we have a pond full of frogs. There is mud and poop around so please do not dress your child in school shoes. Muck boots or outdoor shoes are great. Please no sandals as we will be walking around in the woods and on the property. I have our natural tick and bug spray that the kids can use. If you want sunblock on your kids please apply before they get here.
